DATA SCIENTIST
Part-time (50% – 20 hours)

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing large collections of mosquito vector data
  • Evaluate and Optimizing machine-learning algorithms and/or process-based models
  • Develop predictive analytical solutions
  • Analyze, correlate, and classify data from a variety of sources to be linked to vector features.
  •  Normalize files within TDS standard Map scale, Coordinate System, and Schema.
  • Able to perform analysis with large volumes of sensor time series data ( i.e. sentinel 3; SLSTR )

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.), Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) or Doctor’s Degree programs, with major in Photogrammetry and Image processing (or relevant domain), Computer science (or relevant domain), Atmospheric science, Geography (or relevant domain) and/or others are also welcome
  • Understanding of remote sensing fundamentals, geography, mapping and/or process-based modeling
  • Knowledge in dealing with large scale spatio-temporal vector and raster data (i.e. data from EarthObservation satellites (Sentinel 2/3, Landsat, Pleiadés, WorldView3), weather, GPS, etc…)
  • Familiarity of ESRI / ArcGIS 10.x and/or QGIS or other mapping software
  • Knowledge and experience in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Html, css3
  • Knowledge of SQL database (software PostgresSQL/ PostGIS)
  • Web Application development/Mobile App development is a plus

DATA SCIENTIST (INTERN)
15 – 20 hours per week

An internship at Dipteron provides an opportunity to:

  • Work with raster data sets for image processing
  • Analyzing large collections of mosquito data

Required Qualifications

  • Students in Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.), Master’s Degree (M.Sc.), with major in Photogrammetry, GIS and Image processing (or relevant domain), Computer science (or relevant domain), Atmospheric science, Geography (or relevant domain) and/or others are also welcome

  • First experience with satellite data
  • Familiarity of ESRI / ArcGIS 10.x and/or QGIS or other mapping software

  • Interest in Web Application development/Mobile App development is welcome
